Mike Law recently completed a four-week bike packing challenge to raise money for MDANZ.
The driving force behind Mike’s fundraiser is his brother-in-law, Ian Theodoreson, who was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy a few years ago. “He is one of my heroes and role models.”
On 26 February, Mike set off from Cape Reinga to ride 3,000 km to Bluff in the South Island. The trip is a mixture of sealed & gravel roads, cycle trails and mountain biking trails. The trip is fully unsupported, so Mike must carry all his gear with him. Mike completed the challenging 3,084km trip in 25 days. Mike’s aim was $1 per Km (a target of $3,000) and he smashed this by raising $3,909. Well done Mike, we are so proud of your efforts!
