Rare Disease Day

Rare Disease Day is taking place this Thursday! Click on the blog to find out more information and how to get involved

Rare Disease Day takes place on the last day of February each year, which means it is THIS THURSDAY! (28th February 2018).
The main objective of Rare Disease Day is to raise awareness among the general public and decision-makers about rare diseases and their impact on patients’ lives.
The campaign targets primarily the general public and also seeks to raise awareness among policy makers, public authorities, industry representatives, researchers, health professionals and anyone who has a genuine interest in rare diseases.
The zebra is the official symbol of rare diseases in the United States and is noted for its black and white stripes, which are central to its uniqueness. Everyone has his/her own stripes, those characteristics that make each individual distinct.

This year, we have a very simple and effective way to get involved!
Feel free to wear stripes on this day and take photos.
Post on social media accounts with a brief message of support with hashtag #ShowYourStripes and #RareDiseaseDay!
