Roll 1k for MDA is MDANZ’s National Annual Appeal

It‘s a wheelie fun challenge that anyone and everyone can take part in!

We’re calling on people across the country – you, your family, friends, colleagues, school and club mates – to simply roll 1km on any kind of wheels. In doing so, together we will raise awareness of children and adults like yourselves, who have lived experience of neuromuscular conditions.

We encourage you to get creative – decorate your wheelchair, electric scooter or walker, put on a pair of roller skates, grab a skateboard, jump on a trike or bike.

It’s really easy to take part – all you have to do is head to our fundraising website to register.

Then by spreading the word via social media and email to everyone you know you’ll help raise money to keep our emotional and social wellbeing support services going.

Everyone loves free stuff and that’s why once you’ve raised $50, you’ll receive a stylish Roll 1k for MDA t-shirt from us just to say “thank you”.

You can roll as an individual, ask your friends to join a team with you, or find out what your friendly fieldworker is planning. If your child wants their school to take part, email Kristin for a Schools Pack on Kristin.cross@mda.org.nz.

Our support services are an essential part of what MDANZ offers to members just like Noah, Tommy and their parents Jason & Monique. They have kindly shared their story here as part of the Roll 1k for MDA campaign.

Be sure to Follow Roll 1k for MDA on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
