Our Annual Campaign

Get ready for 2018, where we build on last year and celebrate Freedom for a whole month!

This year, we kick off on DMD awareness day, 7th September and will conclude on LGMD day 30th September!

A range of events and street collections will be held throughout the month.

We will be in the media, talking to others and among ourselves about what Freedom means.

Get involved!

Host a morning tea for MD

Get a group together for morning tea and fundraise for MDA at the same time.  Take a look at our tips for hosting a morning tea for MD this September.

Volunteer as a collector

We need volunteers in all regions to collect during our street appeals.

You must be reliable, have transport and be willing to take responsibility for your health and safety and careful handling of money while collecting.

Contact your local branch if you wish to volunteer for a collection.

Take a donation box

We have mints and silicon wrist bands to sell. See if your workplace or a local cafe would be happy to
have a box on their reception desk or counter.

Hold a school mufti day

Your school might like to hold a mufti day, wheels day or have a coin trail.  Freedom is a universal word that everyone can relate to and we want our young people to have fun with our logo and concept.

Tell us what Freedom means to you

Using our poster, write, sketch or draw what freedom means to you, take a photo of yourself holding this up and either upload it to our Instagram account or send it to us.   To download the poster, click here.

Participate in an event

During September we hold a variety of events nationwide.  You can help by attending an event, donating time or an auction item or spreading the word.
